But the fact still remains that whether we like it or not, these bitter truths about blogging is a must know fact that every new blogger should absorb if you really want to become successful in your journey to become a successful blogger.
And my bosses, the people that have been there before, the longtime successful bloggers can also concur to these facts because it is the ingredient that spices up their journey to being a successful blogger
First and Foremost.
Why are these bitter truths about blogging important for new bloggers?
Many people started their first blog, because of the delicious, well cooked success stories of some successful bloggers, Those bloggers didn’t tell you the bad side of their stories, and because of that many have been misled.
Blogging is a journey, and for you to start that journey and be successful on it, you must know the other side, that is the bad side of the journey. The journey won’t be sweet at first when you started. But it gets sweet when you continue on it. That’s how blogging is.
This the bitter truth about blogging is not to scare you away, but it’s to prepare you, mostly the new bloggers on this journey. So that you won’t quit when it gets tough, because it will get tough. I don’t want you to quit.
Lets quickly look at those bitter truths about blogging.
Bitter Truth #1 – Your blog won’t make you money immediately
Many bloggers told us how they make money with their blog in just 2 months of creating it. Well, that’s a big lie. Your blog won’t make you money in two months time, even in five months time, your blog still won’t make you money. So don’t go into blogging with the mindset of making money from it immediately.
Bitter Truth #2 – Blogging is very hard but simple if you can learn the whole process about it.
Yes! I know this will scare you the most, but that’s the truth. Blogging is hard. From choosing the right niche for your blog to the name of the blog, from choosing the domain name to hosting, from installing WordPress to choosing a template, from setup to customization. The list still keeps going on. Is it researching, creating content, finding an audience to your blog?
These are the challenges we face as a blogger, and you are going to face it too. Most successful bloggers don’t say these among their success stories, they only tell you that your blog can make you rich, your blog can make you famous. They told you how they quit their job and venture into blogging, and started making 7 figures from their blog.
Well, the truth is you can become successful with your blog, but it takes hard work.
Bitter Truth #3 – Blogging might be frustrating if you don’t do it well.
Have you ever thought of staying awake all night, writing that quality and valuable blog post, reading and prove reading it, doing some editing where necessary and then finally you publish it, after that you hit there share button and share that amazing powerful content to the world, only to check back after some days to see that only 20 views that post gets, you will feel frustrated.
Yes I am telling you through my experience. This alone can make you think twice. Getting traffic is not easy, mostly when you started out as a new blogger, by this time, nobody knows your blog and how powerful it is. But this is what can help you, Consistency in value and quality.
Bitter Truth #4 – If you don’t blog with passion, you might not get any result.
You can’t blog without passion. Passion is what keeps you going, without passion, you will quite easily. When you start facing all these truths, you will want to feel discouraged, but it is the passion that will set you back on track. Passion in blogging simply means having strong love and feelings for your blog. If you love your blog, you will keep it up.
Bitter Truth #5 – Blogging is a Continual thing
Blogging is a continual process, for you to become as successful as the top bloggers, you need to blog continually. Blogging is not what you do today, take a break, and continue next week, no. Blogging is what you do continually when I say continually, I did not mean that you write a blog post every day.
You need to know your writing frequency, and those days that you don’t write, you use it to study, make research, practice and make connections. Just like I said earlier, you need to be consistent, consistency is the key to a successful blog.
When you keep doing what you are doing, you never relent in doing it, when you blog continuously, people will start noticing your blog, you start having more and more audience, all this thing doesn’t happen in just 1 month, it takes time.
Bitter Truth #6 – If you can’t exercise enough patient, you will end up quitting.
Yes, patience is the key to becoming successful in your blogging career. Without patience, you will end up quitting, you will end up giving up. Knowing these facts alone is not enough, but knowing that even when blogging seems to be frustrating, you still patiently keep doing it, even if you don’t make money from your blog, you still keep loving it, the patient is the ultimate.
When you exercise enough patience, you will never fail, not only in blogging but in every area of life. The patient is what makes that dream of being a successful blogger come through.
