WHO SHOULD START A BLOG AND WHY?
With the level at which the world is turning digital, in my own belief, I would say everyone should start a blog.
1. kids should start a blog
The value of allowing your kids to involve in blogging today can not be overemphasized. If your kids learn how to start a blog at an early age, it will improve their writing skills and communication.
In addition to that, they will also make money doing what they love to do. Instead of the regular social media, where they post their day to day activities, they can start a blog and make money from it by just posting their daily activities, school life, and a review of their favorite toys and game.
Have you ever heard of Ryan Kaji an eight-year-old self-made millionaire? His YouTube channel (Ryan ToysReview) grossed too over 11million dollars last year.
Ryan made 11 million by just reviewing his toys. With that, he can handle the bills by himself and for his family.
2. Young Adult Should Start a Blog
If you are a young lady that is at least between the age of 23 – 35, you should start a blog. You share your opinion, your lifestyle, at 23 you’ve gotten some experience about, you share it with people out there.
There is no better place to showcase your talent, your gift, skills, and what you are an expert on than a blog, where you can reach millions of people out there, that are wanting to learn what you know.
3. All Business Owners Should Start a Blog.
Once upon a time when newspapers, billboards, magazines, radio advert television, and the likes were one of the best places to advertise your product and services.
Now the internet has taken over. Everyone has a smartphone with the internet, where they stay online all through the day, searching for pieces of information.
Let’s take a look at this example. When you’re stuck at traffic (you are not the one driving), you’re probably not looking at those billboards by the roadside.
You’re checking your social media accounts or searching online for something. Print advertising is obsolete! If you are not looking at the billboards, no one else is either.
It’s time to give your business and online present. Start a blog for your business and create high-quality content that can persuade your client or your audience. If your blog rank on Google’s first page, you will be ahead of your competitors.
4. Real Fans Should Start a Blog
Are you a super fan of a Reality TV show, or a Movie, Sport, a Club, or a Game? then it is time to start a blog about what you love.
You might know more about a Movie or Game, maybe Star Wars, Supernatural, The Walking Dead, or anything, you name it. There are lots of people that have that same love you have for that movie, while not create a community around it and see the wonders.
You can make money by even selling the downloadable format of the movie, or by advertisement.
Anyone can definitely start a blog it doesn’t matter how old you are, or where you are from or the years of experience you have. This guide will teach you how to start a blog in 2020

- Choose your Blog Niche
We all know that your business needs a name and an area of specialization, same way with your blog. Your blog needs a niche, the niche is your area of specialization. So how do you choose that niche for your blog? Is it this way?
Most bloggers will say that you should start a blog around your passion, skills, and experience so that you can continually work on it and have something to write about regularly so that in hard times, you will easily scale through.
Yeah, that’s true, but you can’t make money with your blog this. So we are not using this method again, because it’s an old way of blogging. In this guide, I want to teach you how to start a blog in 2020 and how to make money with your blog that you will create.
So we are going to modify this method.
Your Ideal Niche Is A Connection of Your –
Passion – How do you know your passion? Your passion is something you are enthusiastic about, something that always drives you crazy and you can’t control it. It might be your Skills That you are passionate about or the Experience you’ve acquired in your job. Or anything you do unconsciously without pain, that is your passion. Take note of it, that can be a very good start.
Proficiency – This is your professionalism in what you do, and how you do it. Let’s say now you’ve known your passion, Skills or Experience, the next question is how good are you in what you do? How well can you do it? What you know today might be obsolete tomorrow. I am not here to discourage. The fact is that whether you are a professional on what you do or not, you can still start a blog. That is one of the benefits of blogging, you learn in the process and you earn while you learn.
MARKET SURVEY – This is where the main work starts. That is to say, it is the most important part of choosing your Blog niche. This is how you do your market survey. (I used the term Market Survey because you need to see your blog as a real business.) Your Market Survey Includes –
Market Size – Before you can make money with your blog, you need to know the size of your market and their buying potential. Here Market Size means (the size of your audience.) You need to know the size of your audience, is there really a large market for me? And are they sellable? When you are done with the market size, we go to the next step.
The Problem – What is the problem these people are facing, and how can you provide a solution to that problem? As a blogger, you already know the answer to these. You provide valuable content and product that will solve their problems. Once you can solve their problem, you will definitely make money with your blog. And this should be your aim. (to solve the problem.)
Keyword Research – Doing this is very simple, it is all about knowing if people are really in need of what you are offering. How do you do these? By knowing what they search for. This is the most important. If you want to make money with your blog, you need to be an expert in keyword research. Because you need to know what people are searching for and deliver it to them. So if you do your keyword research and search engine optimization very well, your blog will rank on google and you know what that means more money. This is what we call organic traffic which is better than paid traffic.
If you really want to make money with your blog, you need traffic. And for you to get this organic traffic, you need to rank, Googe page. So how do you get this free organic traffic?
- Monthly Keyword search volume: This is to know the number of times a keyword is searched for in a specific month.
- Keyword difficulty: on a scale from 0 to 100, how difficult is it to rank for that keyword based on the competition
- The average cost per click (CPC): This is how much the keyword is worth if you want to create a Pay Per Click advertisement for it and pay for the click. It’s a good way to measure the keyword’s value
This simply means how you make money with your blog. So now you’ve done your market survey, you’ve known the size, you’ve known your targeted customers and their needs. You’ve known what they are searching for exactly, by doing your keyword research. So how do you make money with your blog from these customers?

When you want to set up your blog, choosing a blogging platform is one thing you should put into thought. The blogging platform you choose is what will determine the speed, responsiveness, beauty, and versatility of the blog.
So I will strongly advise you to use a self-hosted WordPress blog, and choose a simple but responsive template. Most of your audience will be viewing your blog through a mobile device. So it is advisable to use a responsive WordPress template on your site.
Choosing a Domain name for your blog
After deciding on your blog niche, the next should be choosing a domain name for your blog. A domain name is a name that people will call your blog. A good domain is worth more than gold.
Note: Once you register with Bluehost, you will be given a free domain name, That means you don’t need to buy a domain name and a hosting separate.
Consider making your domain name to be short, and self-explanatory, specific, and memorable and it should it come with the dot com (.com) extension.
If you think you have a domain name you love already, quickly go ahead purchase it, before it will be taken by someone else. A domain name is usually sold from $10 – $12, but it is more preferable to buy your domain name along with your hosting.
If you are buying your hosting from Bluehost, you get it free for 1 year. And if you feel that you don’t want to get your hosting, go get your domain name from Bluehost at $2.95 instead of the initial $10. Get your domain name and keep it before it will be taken by someone else, or before the price goes up.
This guide will lead you through how to start a blog on a self-hosted WordPress server.

Let’s do some settings from the beginning now.
Set up Your WordPress site the right way.
There are two (2) tabs under setting that we need to dive into, “General and Permalinks” so therefore not all tab you will need to check.
Site Title: This is the name that will appear in front and center or left top side of your homepage when someone visits your website. Mine is Super Success Tips and that is what you see at the top of my homepage when you pay a visit to my website.
Tagline: This is a short description that explains to readers what your blog is about. It appears right below your website name on your website homepage. For example, if your blog is about making money online, your Tagline can be “I will teach you how to make money with your blog.” You do not have to use a tag line if you don’t want to, it is 100% a personal choice, so don’t waste too much time here!
WordPress Address (URL) & Site Address (URL): These will both be your domain name.
Email Address: This is the primary email address attached to your website. You can set up your business email address through Bluehost in about two minutes. Just login to your Bluehost dashboard, go to Email & Office, go Manage, and set up your email account.
You can pretty much leave everything else here as it is, or play around with the rest of the settings. It’s up to you!
First of all, what is a permalink?
A permalink is the last part of your URL that remains on change. This what a permalink looks like in the image below
Permalinks should remain unchanged so that it won’t be directing to a missing link. So once you have written your post or page, check to confirm if you are okay with it, just like the image above. When you are done, you can now publish. NOTE– Don’t change your permalink after you have published your post.
How to set up permalinks correctly
By default, when you host your WordPress blog on Bluehost, the permalink will be set to publish a new post in this format – www.yourdomainname/post-name
If your permalink setting is not set in this way by default, it’s important to change them right now. It will help you rank better in search engines like Google because your title’s text will appear in each of your URLs.
